RE: Travel Trailer or Fifth Wheel ?

IMO its a personal preference. I think that a 5er is much easier to hook up and to maneuver into tight spots. However, I have much more experience with a 5er than a TT. I see the main advantage to a TT is the fact that you have your whole truck box to haul your camping goods.

RE: RV Traffic on Highways down

The CG that we stayed at was full. This morning on the way to work, I thought there was a lot of RV travel on I-80.

RE: Does Drafting Semi Trucks work?

Probably not the smartest thing to do to save a few dollars. However, You may need to bump draft to get around the leader.

Since you're storing it for him, you should be exercising it. Hopefully, He left you a full tank of fuel.

RE: tires and pressures

I would check the pressure rating of the rims first before going to 50 PSI.
Say what????:?:h Never heard of such a thing.
The rims should have the max psi stamped in them. Your old tires were probably load range B making the max 35 psi.

RE: Camping lights/Decor!!!!!!

Tiki torches and rope lighting around the perimeter of the awning mat. The rope lights give the mat a glowing look.

My HDTV's have signal strength bars. I'm not sure if all do, but this is how I tune mine.

RE: HELP!

Don't feel back I did the same thing a couple of years ago. Thought the battery was no good and bought a new one. Same problem, After a couple of hours of messing with things I realized that I had them hooked up backwards.

RE: Short Bed vs Long Bed

I agree with what longtrailer48 says. I've pulled with both long and short box trucks, they both have good and bad things about it. My main drawback on the SB is that I have problems hauling all of my camping stuff.

RE: New 5'er owner, couple of questions about hitch

Check the warranty on the trailer. Using a gooseneck adapter may cause extra stress on the frame of the trailer that will not be covered. It will be up to the manufacturer of the trailer to make the call.
You might consider the BW Companion hitch to see if it will work for your setup too.
I agree that you will want to check check with the Manf. on the warranty. My BIL uses the BW Companion hitch and loves it.

RE: Tires skiding when parking

I'm always concerned when backing in like this that it will cause a bent axle. Is that not really something to worry about?
